The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) says it has arrested suspected illegal NIN operators in Gwagwalada and other locations. Officials also seized equipment allegedly used for unauthorised enrolment and changes to personal data. NIMC advises Nigerians to enrol only at approved centres and use its official self-service platform for personal information changes. The Commission warns that unofficial agents may expose people to extortion, fraud, identity theft or invalid records.
