Lagos Distributes Business Tools to 3,792 Residents Under MESI

Lagos State has distributed business tools and equipment to 3,792 residents under the Micro Enterprise Support Initiative (MESI), a programme aimed at helping small businesses grow and improving household incomes. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the initiative supports artisans, traders, women entrepreneurs and young people across Lagos. He said the beneficiaries should use the equipment to expand their businesses and create jobs in their communities. The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation said MESI helps graduates of the state’s Skills Acquisition Centres move from vocational training into running sustainable businesses. Beneficiaries received items including sewing machines, catering and baking equipment, photography kits, grinding machines, freezers, hairdressing and barbing sets, agricultural-processing tools and vulcanising equipment. The ministry said 35,101 residents have graduated from its Skills Acquisition Centres since the current administration began, while 18,990 people have received start-up equipment through MESI.
