Minister Claims ₦600bn Cash Transfers Reached 10m Households as Critics Question Poverty Impact

A minister says the Tinubu administration has disbursed ₦600 billion in cash transfers to vulnerable Nigerians, reaching about 10 million households. I find the figures disturbing when poverty is still affecting millions of citizens. What real benefits have the reforms delivered if they have not improved people’s wellbeing? If about 140 million Nigerians are living in poverty, can support for 10 million households make a meaningful difference? I believe the government must provide clearer evidence of the programme’s impact.
