Nigerian Man Detained by ICE After Pennsylvania Public Exposure Case
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has detained Nigerian national Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe following a public exposure case in East Pennsboro Township, Pennsylvania. Local police arrested him on September 27 after responding to a report about a suspicious vehicle in a residential area. He was initially charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. He later pleaded guilty to one disorderly conduct charge, while the other charges were withdrawn. ICE took him into custody on October 1. The Department of Homeland Security said he entered the United States legally in 2017 but remained after his authorised stay expired in 2019. Authorities also said he had received deferred action in 2021. DHS linked him to local reports describing him as a canvasser for a Democratic congressional candidate. The campaign has denied that he ever worked for it.
