Police in Benue State have arrested a woman accused of causing the death of her brother’s daughter after accusing the children of stealing ₦500. The incident reportedly happened on October 5 in Jato-Aka, Kwande Local Government Area. Witnesses alleged that the girl was severely punished and later died from the injuries. Neighbours reportedly forced their way into a room after becoming suspicious and found the child’s body. Her brother was also said to have sustained a fractured hand. Police have intervened, while the allegations require a full investigation.
