Three Killed, Two Injured as Tricycle Rider and Touts Clash Over ₦200 in Lagos
Three people were killed and two others injured after a tricycle rider reportedly clashed with suspected touts in the Ikola area of Lagos State on Wednesday, August 27. Police said the dispute began after the rider allegedly refused to pay ₦200 demanded by the group. The tricycle was reportedly seized, after which the rider returned with others and a violent confrontation followed. Some buildings were also set ablaze. The deceased and injured victims were taken to the Military Hospital in Yaba. The Lagos Police Command said senior police and military officers visited the area, while security operatives have been deployed to restore order. An investigation is ongoing.
