Peter Obi Says Attackers Armed With Machetes Targeted His Convoy in Calabar

Peter Obi, the NDC presidential candidate, said his convoy was attacked on Wednesday in Calabar, Cross River State. He said the attackers threw stones at his supporters. At a town hall meeting after arriving with his wife, Margaret, and running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Obi said his security team told him the attackers had machetes and other weapons. They advised him to take another route, but he said he wanted to get out and meet the attackers. He said they then left.
