Adebayo Questions Government’s 30-Day Fuel Price Discount Plan

SDP presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo has criticised the Federal Government’s proposed 30-day fuel price discount at NNPC filling stations, describing the policy as confusing. Speaking on a television programme, Adebayo said the discount could affect NNPC’s profit and loss position. He questioned how the company’s pricing cost would be determined if fuel prices continue to rise. He also asked what would happen after the 30-day period and whether fuel marketers would be expected to absorb the cost of the discount without government financing.
