Nine Suspects Arrested With Three AK-47 Rifles at Anambra Checkpoint

A joint security patrol has arrested nine suspects after intercepting two vehicles at a checkpoint in Isuofia, Aguata LGA of Anambra State. Security operatives recovered three AK-47 rifles, a pump-action gun, charms and other items from the vehicles. The suspects include seven men and two women. Police said the suspects claimed during preliminary questioning to be security operatives from a neighbouring state. However, they allegedly failed to give satisfactory details about their identities, affiliations, possession of the firearms or mission in Anambra. The suspects and recovered items are in custody as investigations continue.
