Police Arrest Suspected Motorcycle Robber Targeting POS Operators in Awka
Police in Anambra State have arrested 27-year-old Chidera Anthony Eleh, also known as Timaya, over allegations of motorcycle-assisted robberies targeting POS operators and other residents in Awka. The arrest was made on October 9 after an intelligence-led operation. Police said they recovered a motorcycle, an axe, a cutlass and other items suspected to be linked to the alleged crimes. The suspect, described by police as a former convict, remains in custody while investigators determine the extent of his alleged involvement and identify possible accomplices. The command urged POS operators, commercial riders and business owners to report suspicious activity promptly.
