Pantami Ruling and Yayi Allegations Raise Fresh Questions Over 2027 Party Tickets

The court held that the voice-affirmation process used after his defection did not meet party rules and electoral requirements. In Ogun, Senator Solomon Adeola, known as Yayi, is facing allegations from a rival aspirant’s camp over purported inconsistencies in past electoral declarations. Adeola has denied the claims through his spokesperson, who described them as false and defamatory. Although the cases involve different parties and legal issues, both highlight the risks parties face when internal procedures, candidate records and aggrieved aspirants are not handled transparently.
