AIG Orders Fresh Probe Into Alleged Attack on Osun Farmland
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 11, Bassey Samuel Ewah, has ordered a fresh investigation into an alleged attack on three elderly women and a palm fruit tapper in Oke-Oba, Iwo, Osun State. The complainants allege that three men invaded their farmland on August 26, 2026, assaulted them and disrupted their farming activities. Two suspects were reportedly arrested by the Osun Amotekun Corps, while a third suspect is said to be at large. The case is linked to a longstanding boundary dispute between Osun and Oyo states. The complainants insist the farm is outside the disputed area and have raised concerns over the reported release of two suspects. The AIG directed the X-Squad team to visit the scene, investigate the allegations and submit a report by next Friday.
