Allen Onyema Urges Nigerians to Boycott South African Investments After Xenophobic Attacks

Air Peace CEO Allen Onyema has called on Nigerians to adopt a non-violent economic boycott of South Africa in response to repeated xenophobic attacks on African migrants. Speaking in a national TV interview, he urged Nigerians to halt investments in South Africa and instead encourage South African businesses to invest in Nigeria under terms set by the government. He described this approach as peaceful retaliation rather than violence. Onyema criticized South African authorities for failing to protect foreign nationals during periods of unrest. He highlighted the positive contributions of Nigerian entrepreneurs to South Africa’s economy and advocated for stronger diplomatic measures over violent reprisals or shutting down foreign-owned companies.
