My Harrowing Escape from a Kidnap and Ritual Scam in Ogun State
I chased a seemingly legitimate contract for a new international university site in Atan, Ogun State. They asked for company documents and set a meeting date, but I never spoke to them directly until days before the supposed site visit. On the morning of the meeting, I arrived early and found myself guided by a local rider through unfamiliar streets. When they led me to a rundown hospital and a group of strange youths, alarm bells rang. I demanded IDs and refused to go anywhere alone. Tensions rose as community members gathered. I held onto one suspect and called for witnesses. Misguided youths attacked me alongside the suspects, but I kept the situation in public view and seized a phone as evidence. A police officer finally arrived. No money had been paid, so the case ended with an apology and a warning. I still have chats, pictures, and videos of this ordeal. I share my story to protect others from falling into similar traps.
