Troops Arrest Suspected Commanders Linked to Maj Gen Rabe Abubakar’s Death in Katsina

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, working with local vigilantes, have reportedly arrested suspected commanders of the Kachalla Maha terrorist network in Katsina State. The arrests, made on September 20, followed intelligence from local communities. A suspect identified as Samagi is said to be among those in custody. Security sources believe the network may be linked to the abduction and death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, a former Director of Defence Information. His wife, who was abducted with him, was later rescued during a military operation. Investigators are expected to profile the suspects and seek information on the group’s leadership, hideouts, supply routes and possible links to other attacks and kidnappings in Katsina and neighbouring states.
