Troops Thwart Zamfara Raid, Kill Terrorist and Seize AK-47, Motorcycles

Troops of the 1 Brigade Quick Response Force (QRF) repelled an attack in Maru LGA, Zamfara State, on Tuesday. Working alongside Combat Team 1 and Forward Operating Base Kanoma, they engaged terrorists on Kanoma Hill and forced them to withdraw. During a follow-up patrol, soldiers encountered suspects riding two motorcycles. They neutralised one terrorist and recovered an AK-47 rifle with ammunition and the motorcycles. Two tyres on a support vehicle belonging to FOB Kanoma were damaged in the firefight but did not hamper the mission. No soldiers were injured during the operation.
