Delta Police Intercept Suspected Drugs, Military Gear and Guns in Separate Operations
Delta State Police Command says its Anti-Cult Unit intercepted a Toyota Sienna travelling from Onitsha towards Ondo State on September 18. Officers reportedly recovered cartons of suspected Tramadol and other illicit drugs, alongside military camouflage uniforms, boots and hats. The 45-year-old driver was arrested. In separate intelligence-led operations, police arrested six suspected cultists in Ika South and Aniocha North LGAs. Officers recovered a locally made gun, two pistols, a pump-action gun, live cartridges, cutlasses, a battle axe, phones and a laptop. Police say the suspects remain in custody while investigations continue into the source and intended destination of the items, as well as possible links to kidnapping, cultism and illegal firearms distribution.
