Six Killed as Russian Tu-95 Strategic Bomber Crashes During Training Flight
A Russian Tu-95 strategic bomber crashed during a training flight in the Amur region near the Chinese border, Russia’s Defence Ministry said. At least six crew members were killed, while one survivor was hospitalised. Military investigators were sent to the crash site to determine what caused the incident. Videos said to show the aftermath appeared to show smoke rising from the wreckage. The Soviet-era Tu-95, which entered service in the 1950s, remains part of Russia’s long-range air force and is capable of carrying nuclear weapons.
