Alleged Fake Agency Chief Presents OSGF Appointment Letter as ICPC Probe Deepens

George Nwabueze, head of the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office, has denied the ICPC’s allegation that he ran a fake federal agency. He says the office has operated under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation for years. Nwabueze shared documents said to include an October 2025 appointment letter from the OSGF. The letter purportedly appointed him National Coordinator and Executive Director of the Made in Nigeria Project Office for a renewable five-year term. The ICPC says the office was allocated space within the OSGF without presidential approval and was uncovered during its investigation into an alleged fictitious intervention council. An OSGF staff member said the office had been shut for months, leaving conflicting claims over its legal status and authorisation.
