My Lafia Observation: Tinubu Billboards Appear Largely Untouched
I am not a Tinubu supporter, but I visited Lafia, Nasarawa State, after seeing claims that Tinubu’s billboards and banners were being destroyed across the state. From what I observed while moving around the capital, the claims appear overstated. Several billboards carrying Tinubu’s image were intact, including banners from an APC North Central endorsement rally that had remained on road medians for weeks. The visible tension seemed more connected to the governorship contest. I saw that a campaign office linked to the APC candidate, Wadada, had been vandalised, while supporters of the opposing SDP candidate were also involved in heated rivalry. In my view, people should avoid spreading unverified claims that could worsen tension ahead of the elections.
