Rivers Revenue Service Urges Content Creators to Promote Tax Literacy
The Rivers State Internal Revenue Service has urged digital content creators and media practitioners to help residents understand their tax obligations and embrace voluntary compliance. At a tax literacy and digital content creation workshop, participants were encouraged to explain taxpayer registration, Rivers State Tax Identification Numbers, payments, e-filing and tax-clearance requests in simple formats such as videos, infographics and webinars. The agency said its digital tax platform is intended to make services more accessible and transparent. The workshop also addressed concerns about illegal and multiple taxation, while calling for stronger public awareness, accountability and trust in the tax system.
