Kaduna Women’s Groups Lead Barnawa Walk Against Gender-Based Violence

The All Women Leaders Network of Nigeria, alongside the Network of Women with Disabilities and CANET, held a gender-based violence awareness walk in Barnawa, Kaduna State, on September 25. The campaign urged residents to speak up, report abuse and seek help. Organisers said gender-based violence can affect women, men and children in homes, schools, markets, religious settings and marriages. Victims of sexual or physical violence were advised to seek prompt medical care and report cases to the authorities. The group said support is available through designated centres in Kaduna, Zaria and Kafanchan, and called on community, traditional and religious leaders, as well as the media, to support prevention efforts.
