Casualties Mount in US-Israeli and Iranian Strikes Across the Middle East
Preliminary reports list over 1,500 fatalities in Iran, at least 18 in Israel, 13 US soldiers and 21 civilians in Gulf states. Explosions have rumbled across Iran, Israel and neighbouring countries for 24 days. The US and Israel began striking Iran on February 28. Iran then launched multiple missile and drone waves at Israel and US bases in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. An Iranian drone also hit a runway at a UK base in Cyprus. Most incoming attacks were intercepted. Energy sites in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE faced assaults after Iran’s retaliatory strikes. The conflict has pushed oil and gas prices higher. Figures are confirmed as of Tuesday 09:00 GMT and may change as more information emerges.
