Three Teenagers Caught Smuggling Bomb in Flask at Maiduguri Hospital Entrance
Fresh details have emerged on an attempted bomb attack at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital. Three teenagers concealed explosives in a food flask and tried to enter the facility before security stopped them. Guard Ali Musa spotted the trio speeding towards the entrance in a tricycle. He ordered them back, but one threw the flask. Musa kicked it away and it exploded. Two more blasts followed, killing 23 people and injuring over 100. A nearby shop owner confirmed the suspects planned to target the main hospital building. On the same day, another blast at Monday Market is believed to have been carried out with an explosive vest, possibly by a young bomber. Following the attacks, President Tinubu directed top military chiefs to move to Maiduguri. The defence and army heads arrived on March 18 to bolster security.
