Two Women Arrested in Taraba Over Alleged Attempt to Traffic Three Girls
The Taraba State Police Command has arrested two women accused of abducting three girls, aged five to six, in Jalingo and attempting to take them to Adamawa State. The suspects allegedly rented a room in the same compound as the children’s families about two weeks earlier. On Thursday, they reportedly convinced the girls’ mothers to let the children accompany them to the market, but allegedly took them to a motor park instead. A commercial driver reportedly became suspicious after noticing that the girls did not appear to be related to the women. He alerted his union members, who informed the police. The children were rescued and later reunited with their mothers. Police spokesperson ASP Victor Mshelizah confirmed the arrests and said investigations are ongoing.
