Army Rescues 47 ISWAP Hostages in Borno Operation

Operation Hadin Kai troops freed 47 people, mostly women and children, held by ISWAP fighters in Kangarwa, Kukawa LGA of Borno State on 20 June. Coordinated ground and air assaults forced insurgents to abandon their positions. The captives took advantage of the confusion to escape prolonged confinement. The rescued civilians have been moved to a secure location for medical checks and humanitarian aid. The military says it will maintain pressure on remaining terror cells to restore stability across the North-East.
