Police Detain Osun SSG, Recover ₦4.81m and Voter Register During Raid
Osun State Secretary to the Government, Teslim Igbalaye, and five others were detained after police raided his residence in Osogbo on Wednesday. The Osun Police Command said it recovered ₦4.81 million, two Permanent Voter Cards, a voter register covering Wards 1 to 15, a laptop, a photocopier and a printer. Police said one of the detainees was on its watchlist over alleged criminal offences. The command said the items raised concerns about possible vote-buying, conspiracy and harbouring a wanted suspect. It said investigations are ongoing and that anyone found culpable would be prosecuted. The Osun State Government disputed the operation, alleging that officers invaded the SSG's residence without a search warrant and arrested people found there.
