Ekiti High Court Sentences Two Men to Death by Hanging for Armed Robbery
A High Court in Ado-Ekiti has convicted two men, both aged 31, for conspiracy and armed robbery. They were found guilty on six counts under the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act. The offences date back to August 11, 2018, when the pair, armed with guns and axes, attacked residents at Oganganmodu off Igbole Road. Victims lost mobile phones, laptops, a bus and cash totaling ₦290,000. Justice Bamidele Omotoso ruled that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. He sentenced the convicts to be hanged by the neck until dead, invoking the mandatory penalty for their crimes.
