Davido Says Fewer Nigerian Artistes Can Sell Out Shows in London and US
Davido says demand for Nigerian artistes in London and the United States is declining as more performers try to stage shows abroad. Speaking on The Uncut Podcast, the Afrobeats star said veteran artistes should consider bringing more concerts back home over the next decade. He argued that overseas audiences have become overly familiar with Nigerian performers, creating what he described as “see finish.” Davido said that while about 20 Nigerian artistes could reportedly sell out London shows three years ago, only a handful can do so now. He believes the shift should encourage artistes to prioritise shows in Nigeria and other home markets.
