Michigan NICU Nurse Charged After Premature Baby Found With Fractures
A former neonatal intensive care nurse in Michigan, Kieran L. Ansley, has been charged with four counts of child abuse after a premature baby was found with fractures and bruises shortly before her planned discharge from hospital. Court documents allege that the baby’s mother noticed bruising and discolouration on 3 April 2026. Medical examinations reportedly found fractures and bruises on several parts of the infant’s body. Investigators also reviewed hospital-entry records, which showed Ansley made 27 of 32 recorded overnight visits to the room. Ansley denies wrongdoing through his lawyer and has been released on bond while the case proceeds. The hospital says he is no longer employed there and is cooperating with investigators. The child has since been discharged and is home with her family. The allegations have not been proven in court.
