UNIBEN Student’s Killing Spurs Edo State’s Zero-Tolerance on Cultists and Internet Fraudsters
The Edo Government has declared a zero-tolerance policy against cultism and internet fraud following the killing of a UNIBEN political science student. The student, identified as Alexander, was shot dead outside the UNIBEN main gate on May 10, moments after finishing his exams. Governor Monday Okpebholo vowed to leave no stone unturned in apprehending the killers. State Commissioner for Information Prince Kassim Afegbua explained that suspected cultists are now hiding under the umbrella of internet fraudsters to carry out violent acts. He said the government will intensify its war on both cultism and Yahoo Yahoo. Afegbua urged Edo residents to support the crackdown, noting that the state has remained largely peaceful due to sustained efforts against criminal networks.
