Nigerian Makeup Artist Says Poor Electricity Supply Is Costing Her Jobs and Opportunities
A Nigerian content creator says unreliable electricity has disrupted her work and cost her job opportunities with foreign clients. She said she often had to visit friends to charge her laptop so she could meet deadlines. She also recalled losing out during a beauty contest when power went off while she was recording a makeup video. Her backup light battery ran down, and the electricity available in her area was too weak to recharge her equipment. She said she now spends money meant for upkeep on fuel and has had to reduce the makeup and fashion content she produces. According to her, poor power supply is making it harder to work, create and pursue a better life.
