Celebrating Oyo Kidnapping Victims: A Political Double Standard?
I’ve noticed troubling reactions to the recent kidnapping in Oyo. Some people are openly mocking the victims. They claim it’s a consequence of elections or say now they’ll vote a certain way. They even treat the tragedy like a political trophy. It’s hard to understand how anyone could celebrate such suffering. Many of those taunting haven’t returned home in years because of insecurity. Hundreds have been killed in their communities without any outcry. Why are we only outraged when it happens in Oyo? Are Oyo lives more valuable than lives lost elsewhere?
