Zamfara Governor Commends Troops After Major Anti-Bandit Operation
Governor Dauda Lawal has praised the Joint Task Force (North West) for delivering significant blows against bandits in Zamfara State. In early May, forces launched coordinated raids in Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji LGAs, neutralising three gang leaders and seizing an AK-47, a machine gun, a homemade handgun, seven magazines, and 571 rounds of ammunition. A follow-up offensive disrupted a meeting of terrorist commanders in Tumfa Village, leading to a precision airstrike that destroyed their hideout. The governor described the offensive as timely and reaffirmed the Zamfara State Government’s commitment to providing ongoing logistics and support to the military and security agencies operating in the region.
