Wike Alleges Amaechi’s Court Closure Forced Pregnant Woman to Give Birth in Custody
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has alleged that the closure of courts in Rivers State during Rotimi Amaechi’s tenure as governor led to a pregnant woman giving birth while in prison custody. Speaking at his monthly media briefing, Wike criticised the Nigerian Bar Association for inviting Amaechi to address its annual conference in Port Harcourt. He argued that people accused of actions that weaken the judiciary should be held publicly accountable. Amaechi, now the ADC vice-presidential candidate, has not been represented in the report as responding to the allegation.
