Anambra Police Arraign Six Over Alleged Child Abuse and Sexual Offences, Send Separate Case to DPP

The Anambra State Police Command has arraigned six suspects before the Gender-Based Violence Court in Awka over separate allegations involving child abuse, sexual assault, defilement, assault and the alleged unlawful procurement of an abortion involving minors. The cases include allegations of sexual abuse of children aged six, 11 and 13, as well as an allegation involving a 15-year-old girl who became pregnant. Another suspect was accused of injuring her five-year-old daughter with a heated kitchen knife. Police also gave an update on a separate widely circulated video involving a 36-year-old woman and her child. The command said its investigation has been completed and the case file sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal action. The woman remains in police custody pending further proceedings.
