APC Governors Reject Support for Wike-Linked Coalition Ahead of 2027
The Progressive Governors Forum says it will not support any political coalition or candidate outside the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 elections. The forum’s chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, announced the position after a meeting of APC governors in Abuja. The statement is seen as a response to the coalition linked to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. The governors said they would avoid any political arrangement that could weaken President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid or affect APC candidates contesting governorship, National Assembly and state assembly seats.
