Kogi APC Chairman Dies After Collapsing at Ijumu Reconciliation Meeting

Oyewole Mayowa Solomon, the APC chairman in Kogi State’s Ijumu Local Government Area, reportedly collapsed during a party reconciliation meeting in Iyara on Friday. The meeting was convened to address divisions among party members. Participants reportedly rushed to assist Solomon after he slumped, and he was taken to a hospital in Kabba, where he was later confirmed dead. His death has left party leaders and attendees in shock. The cause of his sudden collapse has not been officially disclosed, while members fear the incident may further affect reconciliation efforts in Ijumu ahead of the 2027 elections.
