Tinubu’s Aide Faults Atiku for Raising Lekki Shooting Questions Six Years Later
A presidential aide, Dada Olusegun, has criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar over his call for answers on the 2020 Lekki Toll Gate shooting. Olusegun said Atiku had opportunities to raise the matter during visits to former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2024 and 2025. Buhari was president when the EndSARS protest and shooting occurred. Atiku had marked the sixth anniversary of the incident by demanding accountability and criticising the APC over economic hardship. Olusegun described the intervention as political, arguing that President Bola Tinubu was a private citizen during the protest and was also affected by its aftermath.
