Lagos Set to Host 2026 WTT Contender with ₦140M Prize and World’s Best Players
The 2026 WTT Contender Lagos kicks off May 19 at Molade Okoya-Thomas Hall and Teslim Balogun Stadium. Over 120 athletes from 23 nations—including Japan, South Korea, Germany and France—will compete for a ₦140 million purse and 400 ITTF ranking points. The tournament features 32-player draws in men’s and women’s singles, plus doubles and mixed events. Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna and emerging stars will face off against global champions. LOC chairman Adesoji Tayo says Lagos is ready to showcase its hospitality and raise the bar for African table tennis on the world stage.
