Atiku Aide Criticises Tinubu’s Absence From UN General Assembly

Paul Ibe, an aide to Atiku Abubakar, has criticised President Bola Tinubu for not attending the ongoing United Nations General Assembly in New York. Vice President Kashim Shettima is representing Nigeria at the gathering while Tinubu is on a working vacation in France. Ibe argued that the President’s absence weakens Nigeria’s international image. Nigeria’s representative at the UN defended Tinubu’s decision, saying heads of state have limited speaking time at the assembly and that many countries are represented by vice presidents or foreign ministers.
