Middle Belt Youth Congress Says It Will Set Its Own Course for 2027
The Middle Belt Youth Congress says no region or outside organisation will dictate its political choice ahead of the 2027 presidential election. Its president, Obande Gideon, said the group would decide based on the interests and aspirations of the region’s people. Gideon said the Congress plans to announce its position in the first week of December. It will also hold a gathering on December 5 for Middle Belt stakeholders and young people to discuss the region’s political future. He pointed to the region’s representation in senior national roles under President Bola Tinubu’s administration as one factor in its deliberations. He said the Congress wants the Middle Belt’s voice to remain influential in national politics.
