Chinese Vlogger Says He Faced Repeated Extortion at Checkpoints in Nigeria

A Chinese travel vlogger says he was confronted by men demanding money while filming and trying local food at a Nigerian market. He claims the demands continued at more than 20 unofficial checkpoints over about 10 kilometres, despite explaining that he was a tourist who had paid for his visa. The incident has renewed concerns about harassment of visitors and the damage it can do to Nigeria’s image.
