Ido LG Suspends APM Councillor as Olopoeyan Alleges Political Vendetta
A political dispute has emerged in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State after the council suspended its Supervisory Councillor for Information, Folorunsho Oluwabukola. The suspension, which took effect on September 3, 2026, was communicated in a letter issued on behalf of council chairman Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo. The council accused Oluwabukola of alleged anti-party activities and directed her to hand over government property to the Head of Local Government Administration. APM chieftain Adebisi Aremu Olopoeyan described the action as political vendetta. He alleged that Oluwabukola was targeted because of her loyalty to him and claimed that other officials seen as his supporters could face similar action. The suspension letter did not mention Olopoeyan or give details of the alleged anti-party activities. It also did not state whether Oluwabukola would be allowed to respond to the allegations.
