DJ Humility Lays Grandmother to Rest at 108, Recalls Family’s 2005 Tragedy
Veteran Nigerian DJ Benedict Afagwu, popularly known as DJ Humility, has laid his grandmother, Ezinne Maria Eruru Nwachi Afagwu, to rest at the age of 108. Her funeral mass was held on 23 October 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Akumazi-Umuocha, Delta State, following an earlier requiem mass in Lagos. The family said her later years were marked by grief after the 2005 death of her son, ASP Samuel Afagwu, following an altercation involving police officers and soldiers in Lagos. They said no compensation has been paid over the incident. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, including DJ Humility.
