Atiku’s Aide Demands Answers Over N1.3bn in PFIPC Budget

Paul Ibe, media aide to ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has challenged the presidency over unexplained funds in the PFIPC budget. He wants to know who inserted N1.3bn for the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council into the 2026 budget. He also asked if Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila received N400m as alleged by the council’s claimed director-general. Ibe questioned how an unknown agency secured office space at the Federal Secretariat for what he called a “scam” operation. He says the presidency’s denial did not address these key points.

What could explain the sudden N1.3bn addition to the PFIPC budget? Anyone else concerned about how this slipped through?

Do we know which department proposed that extra N1.3bn at the last minute?

It's interesting that an aide had to publicly demand answers. Could this signal deeper budgetary oversight failures at the presidency?

Are we sure the numbers are inaccurate? Maybe there's more context about the PFIPC's spending that hasn't been shared yet.

It might help to file a formal budget enquiry or demand an independent audit of the PFIPC allocation to clarify those missing details.
