Shettima Criticises Peter Obi’s Economic Comparisons at APC Campaign Council Inauguration
Vice President Kashim Shettima has criticised NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi’s use of foreign economic comparisons, describing his statistics and prescriptions as unsuitable for Nigeria’s realities. Speaking at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja on October 14, Shettima said Nigeria’s population, institutions and economic structure require policies tailored to its circumstances. He argued that approaches used in countries such as Bangladesh cannot simply be applied to Nigeria. Shettima said the APC would campaign on ideas, policies, facts and statistics. He also urged campaigners to treat political opponents with respect and avoid insults.
