Finance Bill 2027: Key Tax and Business Reforms Nigerians Were Asked to Propose
The Federal Ministry of Finance has closed its public consultation for the Finance Bill 2027. Nigerians, businesses, investors, professional bodies and civil society groups were invited to suggest changes to improve Nigeria’s fiscal and regulatory framework. The consultation covered taxation, revenue administration, public debt, budgeting, fiscal transparency, financial regulation, investment, customs and cross-border capital flows. Contributors were asked to identify gaps or unclear provisions in existing laws and propose practical amendments, preferably with specific drafting suggestions. For taxpayers and businesses, the eventual draft bill is the key document to watch. It may contain further changes to tax compliance, incentives, taxpayer services, customs rules and coordination among revenue agencies, building on Nigeria’s tax reforms introduced in 2026.
