Sagamu’s Proposed $1.8bn Industrial Park Targets 29 Factories and 2,500 Jobs
Lee Group plans to break ground on a 450-hectare industrial park in Sagamu and Obafemi-Owode, Ogun State, on November 12, 2026. The proposed $1.8 billion development is expected to host more than 29 manufacturing facilities, including food processing, cosmetics, footwear, recycling, soap and detergent production. The estate is also planned to include power and utility infrastructure, warehouses, truck parking, commercial facilities and residential services. Its location along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway could support distribution to Lagos, other Nigerian markets and West African trade routes. However, the project remains a proposal until financing, infrastructure, factory tenants and production lines are delivered. Its impact should be measured by how much investment is deployed, how many factories begin operations, and whether the promised jobs, local production and exports materialise.
