BBNaija Star Mike Edwards Discovers He Is 48% Igbo in DNA Test

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Mike Edwards says a DNA ancestry test revealed that he is 48% Igbo and 30% Yoruba. Mike, who had always identified as half Nigerian and half Jamaican, said his mother has Yoruba roots while his father was born in Jamaica. The result showed that his Nigerian ancestry makes up 78% of his genetic background. He said he was especially happy to share the discovery with his father, who had long felt connected to Africa. While reaffirming his Yoruba heritage, Mike jokingly asked his Igbo brothers and sisters to give him an Igbo name.
